Marcos Moreu Badia, a visiting scientist from the ExCites Group, Department of Geography, University College London (UCL), was deployed to provide decision techniques to farmers on the Extreme Citizen Science (ECSAgri) Project in collaboration with the Environmental and Economic Resource Centre (EERC) at the Nigeria office. His visit has afforded him opportunities to gain a better insight into the adoption of digital tools in smallholder farming systems, especially among rural communities. His experience coming to Nigeria, and working with African Scientists and rural farmers has been a wonderful one with a series of learning moments.

Miss Adedoyin Adeleke, a graduate of Political Science from Ekiti State University, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Was a National volunteer that worked in the administrative unit of the EERC Nigeria’s branch where she provided support in managing the organization’s social media platform. In her one year of working with us, she had opportunities to learn a great deal from her colleagues across the different units of the organization. She also experienced a series of educative and capacity-building moments from existing programs within the organization.” I am proud to be here and grateful for all the support received so far.” She stated.

Saidat Bolakale is a graduate of Animal Production from Kwara State University. She currently serves as a volunteer with the Environmental & Economic Resource Centre (EERC) field office, Yola, Adamawa State. Sadiat has had an enriching experience and thankful to have gotten better at her craft through having her writing and draft work constantly reviewed by her supervisor. Yet, the best part of her stay was when she took part in the training programs for farmers on bio-fertilizer production and the installation of biogas digesters in various communities in Adamawa state. She noted that these experiences were not only enlightening but also heightened her awareness of environmentally friendly and sustainable practices in agriculture.
EERC has enabled me to study more on climate change and environmental management, which has become a stronger reminder of the importance of promoting sustainable agricultural practices. I am confident confident that the skills and knowledge acquired will be invaluable to me in my future endeavours as working with EERC has helped me to relate better in these fields, and I hopes to learn more going forward.
Thank you EERC for this awesome opportunity.
